What We Believe

SCRIPTURE

We believe in the plenary inspiration of the Scriptures as vindicated by 2 Tim. 3:16. We believe that the Bible is God’s Word and because it is Divinely inspired of God it is inerrant, infallable, and the final authority in all matters of Faith and practice. (2 Tim. 3:16; 2 Peter 1:21; Lk.. 24:44; Jn. 14:26; Isa. 8:20; 1 Thess. 2:13.)

GOD

We believe that there is one true and living God, self existent, infinite in every excellence and that He has revealed himself under the personal and relative distinction of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, equal in every divine attribute, and executing distinct but harmonious offices in the great work of redemption. (Ps. 83:18;  Jer. 10:10;   Ex. 15:11;  Rev. 4:11; Matt. 28:10; Jn, 10:30; Eph. 2:18; 2 Cor. 2:14.)

JESUS CHRIST

We believe in the humanity and deity of Jesus Christ. We believe that He is the Son of God and is without beginning and without ending. That He became man through the miracle of the incarnation for the purpose of redeeming mankind from sin and its inevitable consequences. That he rose bodily from the grave, ascended to heaven, and is now seated at the Father’s right hand making intercession for the believer .We believe that He is coming again in fulfillment of His promises and in fulfillment of biblical prophecy. (Jn. 1:1; Lk.. 1:26-35; Ro. 3:20-26; Jn. 3:14-16; 12:32; Gal 6:14; Matt. 20:28; 1 Cor. 15; Acts 2:24, 32.; 3:15; 4:10; 5:30; Acts 1: 9-11; Phil. 2:9; Eph. 1:20, 21; Heb. 1:3; Jn, 14:3; Acts 1:11; 1 Thess. 4:16. 17; 1 Jn. 2:28; Titus 2:13; Rev. 1:7.)

HOLY SPIRIT

We believe in the personality, deity and equality of the Holy Spirit with the Father and the Son. In relationship to the world we believe that the Holy Spirit’s mission is to convict of sin, righteousness, and of judgment. We believe that the Holy Spirit’s ministry to the believer’s is manifold and consists of the following: regeneration, seals the believer unto the day of redemption; indwells the believers heart; fills and empowers the believer for Christian service, guides, convicts, reveals, enlightens, leads, and transforms.  That the Holy Spirit can be offended by unbelievers in three ways: (1) Resisting, Acts 7:51; 6:10; (2) Insulting, Heb. 10:29; (3) Blasphemy, Matt. 12:31,32. That He can be offended by Christians when we (1) Grieve Him, (2) Lie, (3) Quench Him. Eph. 4:30,  31; Isa. 63:10; Acts 5:3, 4; 1 Thess. 5:5, 19; Eph. 6:16.)

MAN

We believe that man in his original state was created in the image and likeness of God and by a definite creative act of God. That he is a free moral agent and as such had the power of choice man voluntarily chose to disobey God thus committing sin and fell from his original state and man became degenerate, sinful, corrupt and totally depraved. When Adam sinned the whole human race sinned for Adam was a representative man and head of the human race so that man is born in sin and shapen in iniquity and hence, he is a sinner by birth as well as by practice and as a sinner is under the wrath and condemnation of God.  Man is helpless to save himself and in his sinful and depraved condition is not a child of God but a child of Satan and if he dies in his unregenerated condition he will be separated forever from God and suffer eternal punishment. (Gen. 3; Ro. 5:12-19; 1 Tim. 2:14; Ro. 3:10-23; Eph. 2:3; Jn. 3:36; Gal. 3;  Ro. 7; Jn. 8:31-36; Rev. 20:11-15.)

SALVATION

Salvation is only by faith in Jesus Christ and His finished work upon the cross of Calvary, apart from works. When a person accepts Christ as his or her own Savior from sin they are regenerated by the Holy Spirit and are justified before God because that person stands before God in the righteousness of Christ.

We believe in the eternal security of the believer that when a person is genuinely saved by God’s grace revealed in Christ nothing can separate him from the love of God in Christ Jesus.

Apart from Christ there is no salvation or access to God.

We believe that salvation is instantaneous and the moment a person exercises faith in Christ he become a child of God. (Rom. 8:1: Jn. 1:12; 1 Jn. 3:2; Gal. 3:26; Jn. 10:.27-29; 1.Peter 1:15; Jn. 8:29, 30; Col. 3.4. Jn. 5.24, Heb. 3.14.) We also believe that Salvation is a progressive  experience that will be consummated at the coming of Christ in the rapture. (Ro. 8:23; 2 Cor. 5:10; 1 Peter 1:5, 9; Ro. 13:11.)  The salvation of the soul being affected at Calvary and the salvation of the body becoming a reality as the coming of Christ for his own.

We believe that the external proof of  the individual being a true believer in Christ will be seen in the individual’s attachment and obedience to Christ throughout life. (Jn. 15:10; 14:21.)

CHURCH & ORDINANCES

We believe that the true church is composed of a body of baptized believers in Christ who have been called out of the world and who are under the dominion and authority of Jesus Christ, organized upon the New Testament teaching, and permanently associated for mutual edification and diffusion of the gospel at home as well as abroad. (Acts 2:41; 1 Cor. 1:13, 14; Matt. 28:30; Phil. 1:27; Ro. 10:11-15; Acts 2:42.)

The church has but two ordinances according to the scriptures and they are; Baptism and the Lord’s supper.  We believe that these ordinances are symbolic and that they portray the basic truths of our Christian faith as well as the experience of grace of which we are partakers by faith in Jesus Christ our Savior. Both of these ordinances are void of saving virtues.

We believe that baptism is by immersion in water of a believer in the name of the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit, and is a prerequisite to communion at the Lord's table; and that communion is the commemoration of the Sacrificial death of Christ on the Cross for our sins, and it is to be administered by the Church. (Matt. 3:16, 17; 28:19; Acts 8:36-39; 2:41, 42; 2 Cor. 1:26, 11:2.)

Hence the only prerequisites to church membership are; Faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and the believer baptism by immersion in water in the name of the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit.

The mission of the church is to worship God and to glorify Him on earth, the evangelization of the lost with the gospel, to develop the saints in the most holy faith till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness Christ. (Eph. 4:11-16; 4:4-6; Eph. 2:19-22; Matt. 28:18-20.)
