Questions and answers on "How to become acceptable to God?"

Q:  How does one become acceptable to God?
A:  The Bible tells us that all people of every generation are separated from God because of their sins.  Romans 3:23 tells us that "all have sinned and come short of the glory of God."  Likewise, Romans 6:23 tells us that sin is to be paid for by death ("For the wages of sin is death").

Q:  This being true, is there any hope for anyone?
A:  Yes.  There is hope for all people.  Romans 6:23 continues, "but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."  While all of mankind is separated from God, the gift of eternal life is freely offered to everyone.

Q:  How can I receive this gift of eternal life?
A:  I John 5:11-12 says that the gift of eternal life is found in the Son of God, Jesus Christ:  " And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.  He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.  A person can receive eternal life by receiving the Son of God.  John 1:12 says: "But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name."  One becomes acceptable to God when he/she accepts God's Son, Jesus Christ.

Q:  How can I receive Jesus Christ?
A:  Realize that your sins have separated you from God.  Believe that Jesus Christ died for your sins, and that in doing so, He paid the full price of all your sins.  II Corinthians 5:21 -- "For He (God the Father) hath made Him (God the Son) to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him."

Q:  How shall I pray?
A:  Pray this simple prayer of salvation:  "Dear God, I know that I am a sinner and am separated from you.  I believe that Jesus died for my sins and paid the penalty fully.  I receive Jesus Christ as my personal Savior.  Thank-you for saving me and bringing me into Your family.  I pray in the name of your Son, Jesus Christ.  Amen."
